Commemorative Parks and Monuments
Midway Sign and Park
Unbelievably situated at approximately 1,561 miles from San Francisco and New York sits the sign that catapulted Kinsley, Kansas to global fame. Since The Saturday Evening Post coined the name “Midway USA” in 1939, our city has been forever known as the halfway point to the eastern and western regions of the country.

Edwards County Historical Museum and Sod House

Steam-Powered Engine
Explore the authentic sod house next door and see what it truly was like to live as a settler during the American frontier. It was built in 1958 and is regularly maintained with a state-of-the-art sod cutter. The management will also be installing brand-new protective covers to shield the sod house from bad weather.
All Veterans Memorial
Located between Highway 50 and 56, the attraction sits just east of Midway Park as a salute to the brave men and women who have selflessly fulfilled their military duties. The memorial park features a fully tracked and heavily armored M60A3 tank, reminiscent of the war machines used in the past world wars.
Kinsley Civil War Monument
Designed by American Civil War veteran David A. Lester, the monument celebrates good-natured community dwellers working together for the greater good. Visitors can find in attraction at Hillside Cemetery, 1½ miles west of Kinsley City at the County Line Road (1st Street).
Pioneer Park (South Park)
Head over to the intersection at 12th and 13th streets, just off Highway 183 on Kinsley City’s south side. Here, you’ll find the city’s largest leisure park, which boasts the following features as well as a new 9-hole disc golf course—coming soon!

Entertainment Hubs
Kinsley Country Club
Score a hole-in-one at Edward County’s own “Oasis in the Sandhills”. Located on Highway 183, Kinsley Country Club offers the luxuries of a 9-hole golf course, rental carts, and more amenities that comprise every golfer’s paradise. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to stay the full day for a small fee of $20.
Kinsley Gun Club
Dedicate an evening to fun-filled target shooting on Briggs Avenue. The Kinsley Gun Club is a host to monthly shoots on Sundays, weekly sessions on Wednesdays, as well as several annual events and meetings. It was founded in 1901 and continues to operate with its long-time members and affiliates.
Palace Theater
This well-loved local attraction has brought our county over a century of all the best big-screen films, live stage plays, and concert productions. It was built in 1917 and has been beautifully restored by a local volunteer group under the name of E Team. The theater regularly features a new collection of movies on a weekly basis, with tickets at just $5.00. Interested moviegoers can find the cinema house at 223 East, 6th Street!
