Everything You Need To Know About Our Commissioner Department
County Commissioners
The Edwards County Board of Commissioners is a three-person elected body that has overall responsibility for county governments, setting policy and performing executive and legislative functions. Commissioners serve four-year terms, with two of the three commissioners being elected in the same year, and the other one commissioner elected two years later. Commission terms begin the second Monday in January following the election. The Board of County Commissioners is the only elected body that represents all citizens of Edwards County regardless of their residence inside or outside of city boundaries.
The Board meets every other Monday at 8:30 a.m. or on a Tuesday following a Monday holiday, in the County Commission office located on the first floor of the Edwards County Courthouse. Citizens are encouraged to attend meetings. If you would like to appear before the commissioners, please contact the County Clerk’s office to schedule an appointment at (620) 659-3000
